For those moves moving into fudo-dachi shuto uke the key is control of body for a smooth transition into fudo-dachi stance. Breath in at the start of the move and tighten the core. Slowly exhale as you move the foot forward and transition into fudo-dachi. Keep a light contact with the forward foot to the floor as it moves outward.
ReplyDeleteFudo-dachi is 70/30 split front/rear leg. Keep feet only 20 degrees canted off of a normal front stance. Knees pressure outwards.
ReplyDeleteMove #9 on empi shift aggressively forward into the opponent and loading front leg. This allows for easy transfer to move #10 into kokutsu-dachi. Also, hands and feet land together on move #10 and this needs to be an extremely fast transition.
